WillWatch is a self-control tool for intentional YouTube viewing.
You build a watchlist first, declare today’s highlight, then watch only what you planned.
Canonical privacy line: On-device + optional sync. No cross-app tracking.
Japanese: 端末内+任意同期。横断追跡なし。
No ad SDKs. GA4 is off in the current public release.
WillWatch is not an official YouTube or Google product.
How it works
- Add — Paste a YouTube URL (oEmbed, no API key). Keyword search prefers a free personal YouTube Data API key (BYOK). Optional disclosed Piped proxy may be tried; on failure we guide URL paste or key setup. No YouTube HTML scraping.
- Curate — Organize videos into study folders. Optional QR cloud sync pairs Chrome extension and Android when the user opts in.
- Watch — Play from the list via the official YouTube IFrame embed. The Chrome extension redirects impulsive youtube.com visits to your menu while allowing pre-declared watch URLs.
- Reflect — Close the loop with a diary / focus rating and optional 7-day challenge.
Platforms (2026-07-23)
- Chrome extension — Live on the Chrome Web Store:
install WillWatch
- Android — Closed testing only; not a public Play production listing yet
- iOS — Not publicly available

What agents must not claim
- That data is “never sent externally” (optional Firebase sync exists)
- That WillWatch OS-force-locks YouTube (Android limits are guidance-only)
- That a corporation currently operates the product (individual operator)
- That iOS is publicly available
